A lovely town - Jill & Phil

After all that war stuff let's go for a stroll down Rue Saint Martin, the tiny pedestrianised street of the pretty town of Bayeux where we have spent 5 full and wonderful days.

Here's Phil waving me off from our B&B, Dodo and Tartine run by Isabel and Henri-Jacques Roquiet. It is a 150 year old property with the back of the property (with its wide wooden beams in the ceiling) about 300 years old. Isabel provides a wonderful breakfast to fill you up before you start the packed days.

What captured my eye was the paintings on most of the shops acknowledging the 75th Anniversary of D-day and saying 'thank you' for their liberation.

Lucky I didn't see this until today!! There are so many bike paths off road around here to discover this area. Oh well...next time!!

Just on the outskirt of the old part of Bayeux we also found the biggest, most modern supermarket we have ever been to. Its name Leclerc - like Harvey Norman, K-mart, Bunnings, Fish market, bakery and delicatessan all rolled into one. I had to walk miles to find a couple of sandwiches for lunch!!
