The last couple of days have been a feast to one's eyes. The beauty of the scenes mostly speak for themselves but
I will add a comment or two as I am known to do!!

Le Stanze del Lago apartment was huge and very well appointed as it has been newly renovated. The lift to the 2nd floor was a great start. It was also very central to everything. The Duomo cathedral, the ferry terminus, the funicular cable car and the ever important supermarket - this one being an Express Carrefour and only 200m from the lake.

The lake is so beautiful in the sunny weather. The promenade walk along lakeside is unbelievable for its beauty.

We decided to take the funucular tram up to Bruante to get an aerial view of the city and lake.

The funicular had actually been installed in the 1800's so that the tourists of that time could get an aerial view and it certainly didn't disappoint today.

We were enjoying it so well that we decided to have a pizza dinner overlooking the view

Happily we caught the tram again around 8.30pm to wander back to the apartment. Our first impression of Lake Como was classy. The cars, the department stores and the haute couteur of the locals.

This place certainly lives up to its name.
